Central (Bucks Training Group): David Friday - 01296 670411 or Fran Robb - 01525 240389.  On Sundays once a month for Puppies, Beginners and Novice.  The following dates are provisional at the moment - 14th February, 21st March, 18th April,  23rd May, 13th June, 18th July, 22nd August, 19th September, 24th October, 21st November and 19th December.

Cotswold: *Francesca Prentice - 01993 868123 who will direct you to the nearest appropriate trainers some of whom may be able to offer live game training during the shooting season.

Eastern Counties: *Ron Lane - 01707 270335 who can also help with live game training or Anne Brook (01832 280421) who will direct you to the nearest appropriate training classes.

Midlands: *David Showell - 0121 351 251.  Every Sunday for all levels. Live Game training can also be arranged during the shooting season.

Southern: *Paul and Maddie Burr - 01444 892357. Once a month for all levels.  Live Game Training can also be arranged during the shooting season. Dick Pettett (01233 731174) also runs training classes in his part of the Area. 

South West: *Sheila Neary - 01398 371537 or via the link on the Contacts Page. Individual lessons at any time or group training for all levels, (including 'Babies'), every Wednesday and Saturday at Combe Davey, near Taunton during the summer, mid week during the winter. This summer there will be an all day training session (Sundays) once a month.  Live Game training can be arranged during the shooting season.

In addition to the above Area GWT Organisers, *Roz and David Bellamy (01623 411489) run training classes in Nottinghamshire and, *Chris Gwilliam (01963 31022) on Wilts/Somerset/Dorset border. There are also various training groups around the country run under the National Training Programme scheme (more details under separate listing on Training Page) or the option to contatct one of the Live Game Mentors/Trainers, some of whom run training classes themselves, as they will be able to help with any general queries you may have about working your Flatcoat.

At the Field Trial Sub Committee meeting in September 2003 it was agreed that a national training programme for puppies, new and inexperienced handlers should be set up; it has been very rewarding to see some of these handlers achieving awards in working tests for the first time and ‘being bitten by the bug’.
