At the recent committee meeting Item 16 of the Flatcoated Retriever Society's Code of Ethics regarding health checks was discussed.  This was requested by a member of the Society.

At present it would appear that the criteria for health schemes in the UK cannot be compared to the criteria set in other countries.

Therefore, at this time and for the foreseeable future all imported dogs that will be used for breeding in the UK should be screened under the BVA/KC Health Schemes as stated in the Society's Code of Ethics.
