Intermediate and Veteran Tests 2021

The United Retriever Club (North Midland Area) held a Cold Game Test on 1st August 2021 at The Slips, Caunton, Notts by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Derrick Smith. The judges were Charlotte Jeffrey and Mandy Minshall. The tests involved retrieves on pigeons and partridges. The weather was cloudy with a heavy downpour in the morning. There were 30 entries. In the morning each judge assessed the dogs on a marked retrieve and a blind at distance in some cover. After lunch Mandy judged a blind with shot, the bird falling in cover beyond a wire fence. Meanwhile Charlotte judged a blind where the dogs had to go down a tunnel formed by hedges.
