Report and Results from The Shirley Radburn National Working Tests June 26th 2021

The Shirley Radburn National Working Tests  were held at Manor Farm, Hill Croome, Worcestershire by kind permission of Toby and Alison Spires and generously sponsored by Skinner’s Pet Foods Ltd. The weather was almost perfect for a working test, light cloud, intermittent sunshine, not too hot and a nice breeze. The grounds were fabulous and excellently prepared by Toby Spires and Martyn Evans. General Committee Update May 2021

Update following the General Committee Meeting on May 27th 2021 A discussion took place about the current high prices being charged for Flatcoat puppies by some breeders. The General Committee recommend that the maximum price to be charged for a puppy should not exceed £1500 and this advice is reflected in the current guidance document on the Society website. Following the result of the proposition in the 2020 AGM papers to make the Society Health Sub-Committee Chairman an Officer’s position it was decided that there should be a new title to sit in line with that of other Officers and…

Introduction to Field Trials Training Day

The FCRS held the first “Introduction to Field Trials” in Somerset by kind permission of Dr Tim Woodgate-Jones on 13th June. I hope all who attended have a little more insight into how a walked up trial and a driven trial operate. It was very hot for the dogs, they mostly coped with the heat with the walk up in the morning and drive after a break for lunch. We had a lovely day, in good company as always, at this joint Flatcoat/Golden working test. Thank you to all those who came and put their training to the test. Update to Nominations for 2021 AGM

The Acting Chairman, Jane Jones, has been informed today by Mr Richard McHowat that he has withdrawn his nomination for the position of Honorary Treasurer at the 2021 AGM. The AGM papers have however already been prepared and are in the process of being circulated so we are unable to remove this nomination from the papers. Update from short Zoom meeting 29th April 2021

  Helen Ford was co opted as the new Field Trial Secretary, and both she and new committee member (2020 AGM) Lauren Broome were welcomed on to the General  Committee.   There were forty three returned ballot papers for the 2020 AGM and these were counted. There was a massive majority who voted to adopt the 2019 accounts and the two propositions. The business of the 2020 AGM is now concluded.   Helen Ford put forward the names of the people she wished to invite on to the Field Trial Committee, and after a full discussion, they were all ratified…

General Committee Meeting 10th April 2021 The papers required to carry out the business of the 2020 AGM have been sent out to all members and postal votes are now being received. They will be counted at a short Zoom meeting attended by the General Committee on 29th April 2021.
