FCRS Walked Up and Water Training Day

FCRS Walked Up and Water Training 10 July with Norman and Sandra Onens (Kestrelway Gundogs), Nr Evesham, Worcestershire.
Thank you Patty Goriainoff for sending a report from the day:

Thank you Heather Harley for organising another great training day with Sandra and Norman Onens.

The morning consisted of a walk up in tall grass , which made sure the dogs and handlers were on the ball with their marking skills. There were two marks ahead and one long memory behind. This helped us brush up any stop or handling issues. The latter part of the walk up, was 2 marks ahead – one in tall grass and one over a jump. As it was relatively far from the jump, it reminded us to brush up on the ‘get over’ command.

The second half of the day consisted of steadiness to water and ironing out any little water issues we had. The retrieve was an easy mark in the pond and the dogs had to be steady whilst other dogs did a retrieve in pairs or in line running past them.

It was great to be reminded of all the things that need work on and it was good to get some feedback and good tips from Sandra and Norman.
