Back to Basics with Phil Bruton 25th/26th June review.

Last weekend (25/26 June) the FCRS put on Back to Basics with Phil Bruton . Everything was set up so the dogs of different stages of their training succeeded. The first day exercises were to get dogs to know the ground more and different areas so that they could be tested further the next day. It was a very relaxed atmosphere with plenty of laughs. Update following The General Committee meeting of 16th June 2022

Mrs Helen Ford resigned from the position of Field Trial Secretary on 14th June and, although requested to re-consider her decision, has declined to do so.  The General Committee would like to thank her for her hard work and commitment over the past year. Results of the SGRS/FCRS joint working tests held at Parklands Ewshot on 12/6/22

We were blessed with lovely weather and as ever are grateful to the judges and helpers for giving up their time, to the landowner and to the SGRS for hosting.  NDNH had 13 entries, with 7 flatcoats. There were four junior handlers in the 6 – 11 years age group, which was kindly judged by Mr David Bellamy. South West FCR Working Test results held on 6th March 2022

Flatcoated Retriever Society South West Area Gundog Working Test – Report by Organiser Sara Thurgood We had a busy and successful day on Sunday 6th March 2022 running the FCRS South West Area Working test at Southcott Farm, Winkleigh, Mid Devon by kind permission of land owners Mr and Mrs R Bland. Although there was a cold wind for most of the day, it stayed dry and there was a warm welcome for all. The ground provided varying terrain for dogs to work, including woodland, banks and ditches, cover crops, open ground and water. The day included tests for NoviceDog/Novice Handler (ND/NH), Novice and Open.
